Student Life
Discover, Participate, Belong
There are so many ways that students can get involved,
build confidence and make memories that last a life time.

Sports
At Tokoroa Intermediate, students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of sporting opportunities that promote teamwork, resilience, confidence, and school pride. From school sports and inter-school competitions to community sporting pathways and events such as WIMS, students are supported to challenge themselves and develop both skills and positive attitudes.

Garden to Table
Our Garden to Table programme provides students with hands-on learning experiences that connect sustainability, wellbeing, and practical life skills. Students learn to grow, harvest, prepare, and share food while developing an understanding of kaitiakitanga and healthy living.

Culture & Te Ao Māori
We are proud to celebrate the diverse cultures within our kura and to honour Te Ao Māori through daily practice, learning, and relationships. Tikanga Māori, te reo Māori, kapa haka, and local connections help strengthen identity, belonging, and respect for ourselves and others.

Tautoko Groups
Tautoko Groups provide additional support and connection opportunities for students who may benefit from smaller group environments focused on wellbeing, confidence, relationships, and personal growth. Students are encouraged to build resilience, develop positive social connections, and feel supported within our kura and wider community.

The Arts
The Arts provide students with opportunities to express creativity, build confidence, and explore their individual talents. Through visual arts, music, drama, dance, and creative projects, students are encouraged to think imaginatively and share their ideas in meaningful ways.

Events
Throughout the year, students have opportunities to participate in a wide range of school events, celebrations, camps, cultural activities, and community experiences. These events help build connections, create lasting memories, and strengthen our sense of whānau and belonging within the kura.
