Waikato Intermediate Schools' Softball Yesterday the boys and girls softball teams travelled to Morrinsville to compete in the Waikato Intermediate Schools Softball Tournament. Both teams faced very tough competition from the Hamilton teams as softball is played competitively there. The boys’ team coached by Hamilton Sheck drew 2 games and lost 2. All boys played well and are to be commended for their behaviour on and off the field. The girls’ team was coached by Brady Sheck; they were successful in pool play and reached the semi finals where they played Berkley Intermediate. Unfortunately they went down 9-8 in the last innings. While this was a team effort Nadine More must be commended for both her batting and fielding skills. Many thanks to the Shecks for taking the time to coach the teams, and to Hamilton Sheck and Joyce Daniels for umpiring, we appreciated you sharing your considerable knowledge of the game and its rules with our pupils. Waikato Intermediate Schools' Volleyball On Tuesday, 31st October the boys and girls volleyball teams travelled to Te Awamutu to play in the inter-intermediate school volleyball competition. The boys’ team played extremely well winning their first game 46 – 21. The girls’ team won two games and were placed third overall. Both teams worked together supporting each other as they went up against some tough teams. They represented our school proudly. Thank you to the parents and referees who helped out on the day. Rachel Toy Teacher In Charge Peace Poster Competition The Peace Poster competition is a national competition
making children aware of peace and what constitutes peace. Nelson Chan
has won the annual Peace Poster competition in Tokoroa for the second year
in a row. His work will now go to the National finals. We wish
him luck and hope he has further success with this competition, which is
sponsored and organised every year by the Tokoroa District Lions Club. Tagging Blitz A partnership between the Tokoroa Police, South Waikato Safer Community
Council, South Waikato District Council and the Tokoroa Information Centre
aims to rid Tokoroa of tagging in just ONE day! Yes, just one day, but we
can’t do this alone. We need your help. Help us bring the beauty back to our
town by getting rid of the unsightly tagging. Cans Film Festival The Salvation Army Tokoroa in conjunction with Tokoroa Cinema 3 are
promoting a movie night on Monday, 13th November, with the entry cost a can
