The team did extremely well, winning the Waikato Intermediate Schools Trophy. The team members were: Haden Bonnar, Lloyd Parry, Liam Ramea, Gideon Letoga and Peter Letoga. This is the second time Tokoroa Intermediate have won the trophy. The girls’ golf team won in 1998. Vic O'Rourke Teacher In Charge Kapa Haka The school Kapa Haka group spent last Friday to Sunday at Papa O Te Aroha,
learning new waiata and routines for their performances later this year.
The tutors, Charlie Te Pana and Tangiwai Amopiu, are very talented and our
children are lucky to learn from them. Not only did the group learn
tikanga maori and kapa haka, they also got to take part in Whaea Tangiwai’s
martial arts lessons, listened to Matua Charlie’s stories, performed in
group skits and some even participated in a “Marae Idol” contest, which was
won by Ngarongo Winikerei! Many thanks to those parents who gave up
their time to come and help out in the kitchen, it was greatly appreciated.
