| Newsletter 28th June, 2006 - Term 2 - No10 | |||||||||||||||
Dear Parents / Caregivers Thank you to all those parents who took the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher and discuss the mid year report. We hope you found the process worthwhile for your child’s ongoing learning. Those of you who were unable to make an appointment, reports will be posted to you this week. School Uniform Several weeks ago we published the Uniform Policy in our newsletter. We would ask parents to read this and ensure their children adhere to it. An area that is causing us concern are jackets – children who wear non-uniform jackets to and from school must remove them once at school. The only jackets to be worn in school are the school track suit jackets (these are not worn inside). The school jersey and the new fleecy top are available for extra warmth inside leaving the jacket for outside the classroom. We are also concerned about students who are wearing just their summer polo shirt at this cold time of year. Please help us in this area. Staffing Mrs Abbott, who has been on sick leave this term has resigned her teaching position at Tokoroa Intermediate School. We wish her well for her move to Hamilton and we thank her for her work in helping students with reading over the past year. Board of Trustees The Board of Trustees Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 19 July will now be Board of Trustees training and hence not a public meeting. We will notify you of the date of the next meeting as soon as possible next term. End of Term 2 This Friday at the normal time, school closes for the holidays. The holiday break is two weeks with school restarting on Monday, 17 July at 8:50 a.m. Have a safe and restful holiday. We will see you back after the holidays refreshed and ready for a very busy term. Student Success Congratulations to Ashleigh Totton who passed her examination for Jazz Dancing with a Silver Star. Dental Clinic Kate, Fiona and Nicky will be at the Tokoroa Intermediate School Dental Clinic at the beginning of Term 3. They will be screening Year 8’s first then Year 7’s.
