Dear Parents / Caregivers

Thank you to all those parents who took the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher and discuss the mid year report.  We hope you found the process worthwhile for your child’s ongoing learning.  Those of you who were unable to make an appointment, reports will be posted to you this week.

School Uniform

Several weeks ago we published the Uniform Policy in our newsletter.  We would ask parents to read this and ensure their children adhere to it.  An area that is causing us concern are jackets – children who wear non-uniform jackets to and from school must remove them once at school.  The only jackets to be worn in school are the school track suit jackets (these are not worn inside).  The school jersey and the new fleecy top are available for extra warmth inside leaving the jacket for outside the classroom.

We are also concerned about students who are wearing just their summer polo shirt at this cold time of year.  Please help us in this area.

Mrs Abbott, who has been on sick leave this term has resigned her teaching position at Tokoroa Intermediate School.  We wish her well for her move to Hamilton and we thank her for her work in helping students with reading over the past year.

Go Bus Tokoroa Price Increase

Due to increased costs incurred in operating our bus service to Tokoroa schools, it will be necessary to increase the costs of fares for those students who are ineligible for free transport to their school of choice.

The increase which is to be effective from the start of Term 3 being Monday, 17 July 2006 will result in a concession card of 10 costing $17.00 with a single fare cost being $1.70.
