Dear Parents / Caregivers
At last weeks Board of Trustees meeting Mr Fisher was able to report on
some excellent results across the school in written language and reading.
These results were part of the targets set at the beginning of the year for
the annual report to the Ministry of Education. Each of these targets has
been met.
The current building project, remodelling of the staffroom area, is almost
complete. We only await the clearance from the electrician and one or
two minor jobs to be completed and we will be able to move back into this
area.

the time to come and assist as officials. Your help was much appreciated.

Tuesday Afternoon Softball
Every Tuesday after school a group of dedicated softball players from our
school make their way to the Tokoroa sports ground to take part in social
softball games. Organised by local softball enthusiasts, it has been
good to see Junior Softball revived in Tokoroa and it has been pleasing to
see the commitment our Tokoroa Intermediate players are giving to taking
part. Last night saw one of our school teams finally beat the ‘infamous’
Sheck family team.

Marae Visit
Last Wednesday, 17 November, pupils from Rooms 9,10,11 & 12 met at Papa O Te
Aroha to take part in a powhiri and stay the night as part of their Social
Studies and Maori programme. The children learnt about many of the
carvings in the wharenui and delivered their whakapapa. The following
day they took part in a variety of activities; making tukutuku panels,
drama, rakau, string games, art and harakeke making. Thanks to those
parents who gave up their time to assist and to Herewini Tamihana, Tangiwai
Amopiu and Amy Awatere for their support and expertise.
