Dear Parents / Caregivers
This week we were fortunate to be visited by Sir Richard Hadlee. He
spoke to a full assembly about his cricketing life from his background in
Christchurch to the major cricket arenas around the world. He gave a
worthwhile message to all our pupils about the huge benefits of pursuing
your dreams and working towards your goals. Our thanks to the Lions
Clubs for making this opportunity available to us.
Congratulations to all those involved in the athletic sports. Well
done to all our students who put in their best effort on the day and
congratulations to all the winners. Thanks also to the band of
supporters who were on hand to watch.

Attendance
Once again we have noticed that Monday had very high absenteeism.
Please help us by ensuring that your child is at school every day unless
sick. Please phone the office if your child is going to be absent.
Also please remember that school starts at 8:50 a.m. and students are
required to be in class ready to start the day at that time.

Athletics Sports Day
A very successful day of athletics was held on Thursday, 10 November to
complete the school athletics programme for 2005. This has involved
skill-based instruction during class phys-ed time, practise and instruction
during Thursday sport and participation by all during lunchtime events.
We continue as a school to develop a high level of participation and
achievement in athletics and this should transform into quality results when
the school team contest the Waikato Intermediate and Middle Schools
competition which takes place at Porritt Stadium on Tuesday, 22 November (an
event we have won seven out of the last eleven years).
