Dear Parents / Caregivers
I would like to thank the parents, friends of the school and teachers who
assist our school by coaching and managing sports teams. Without your
generosity we would not be able to offer the wide range of sporting
opportunities to the students that we do. We have somewhere between one hundred and sixty and one
hundred and eighty students playing for school netball, hockey and soccer
teams. We also have a reasonably large number of students playing
weekend rugby and rugby league for clubs. To ensure the students enjoy
their sport and there are no incidents which spoil it for players, coaches
and managers, spectators and parent supporters, we have a “Fair Play” code
for both players and supporters. If everyone abides by the Fair Play
Charter Code of Conduct, sport will be the winner. Change Over to Winter Uniform All students were to be in winter uniform by Monday. I would like to thank the parents / guardians who have made sure this has happened. For the small number of students still in summer uniform we request that the change-over occurs in the next few days. Polynesian Cultural Festival The Polynesian group had their first practise during the first week of the Term and will continue to practise weekly. Mrs Fanaura Kingstone, Mr Taparia Tuakana, Mrs Metua Tuakana and Mrs Joyce Daniel are tutoring the group. We appreciate their help and commitment to ensuring the continued success of the Polynesian Cultural Group. Telecom Education Foundation We have 1˝ weeks left until the competition finishes. Some individual students and classes have got right behind this fundraising venture. I am hopeful that the students who have not got sponsors to date will make a special effort over the next 1˝ weeks. Most of the money used to purchase computers and ICT gear the school owns, has been raised by past students. I would hope present students also do their bit so ICT equipment can be replaced. Dental Clinic Dental nurses return to Tokoroa Intermediate School, 7th June, for normal duty. Warren Long PRINCIPAL
