Dear Parents / Caregivers ERO VISIT In last week’s newsletter I mentioned that reviewers from the Education Review Office (ERO) were visiting our school as part of their regular review cycle. I would like to thank all parents who spoke to ERO members during the week. The ERO team was impressed with not only your knowledge of the school but the way you articulated your views. Thank you for your time and effort. The Board of Trustees and Senior Management received an oral report from the ERO team last Thursday. We will receive a written report in approximately two weeks. The Board of Trustees will then have the opportunity to respond to it. The oral report clearly indicated that students were receiving high quality education at Tokoroa Intermediate School. They were particularly impressed with the classroom reading programme and the progress students are making. Reading was the focus area of the review. They also commented on the positive attitude of the students and the on task behaviour. Comments were made with regards the high standards expected from the students and those being achieved in all aspects of school life. When the report is published we will make it available to all parents and the community.
